A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. The health and well being of a child acquires utmost importance in the context of the child’s overall development particularly the physical and the mental. Through the following activities the Laurelites Fitness Club encourages the students to develop an active lifestyle, healthy eating habits, better concentration and physical alertness.
Sports and Games – The school campus boasts of custom made tennis courts and a spacious playground where the children are encouraged to take part in a wide variety of sports such as athletics, Martial Arts (karate), lawn tennis, skating, cricket, football, basketball, table tennis etc under the able guidance of competent and specialized trainers. Through these activities students develop speed, stamina and balance giving a boost to the confidence in self. The school sports also help to inculcate such virtues as team spirit, perseverance, patience etc. and reinforce the need for self – discipline.
Yoga and Meditation – Regular yoga sessions are not only enjoyed by the tiny tots but also help them to improve flexibility of the body and alertness of the mind. Concentration is enhanced through daily silent sitting sessions which also encourages them to value the beauty in nature and sharpens the mental faculties. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body.
